Walking Taco Salads



– 1 tablespoon Real California unsalted butter – 1 pound lean ground beef, or lean ground turkey – 2 tablespoons taco seasoning – 4 (1-ounce each) bags nacho cheese chips, or corn chips – 1 head romaine lettuce, roughly chopped – 1/2 cup shredded Real California Cheddar cheese – 1/2 cup shredded Real California Monterey Jack cheese – 1/2 cup Real California sour cream – 1 avocado, halved, pitted, peeled and diced – 2 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped – 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped :Tacos, Trending, Cheddar, Monterey Jack

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 8 minutes

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Add beef and cook, breaking up into small crumbles with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Cook for about 8 minutes, until beef is cooked through and begins to brown. Stir in taco seasoning until combined, about 1 minute. Remove from heat.

To serve, open each chip bag and fold edge of bag twice to create a wide opening. Top bags evenly with lettuce, beef mixture, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, a dollop of sour cream, avocado, tomatoes and red onions.

Serve and enjoy.

Tip: Feel free to substitute ground beef or turkey for ground Mexican chorizo.
