– 2 cups Real California milk or lactose-free milk – 1/2 cup chopped dates, ideally Medjool dates – 1 teaspoon ground ginger – 1 teaspoon ground turmeric – 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom – 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 5 minutes, plus time to steep

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine milk, dates, ginger, turmeric, cardamom, and cinnamon and bring to a simmer. Remove from the heat, cover, and let steep 1 hour.

Strain milk mixture through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on solids. Return mixture to the saucepan and return to a simmer over medium-high heat. Serve hot.
